Thoughts behind the artwork...

I find the concept of 'soul mates' quite intriguing. In my minds eye I envision soul mates as those who are able to see through all of the artificial, superficial trappings that each and every one of us possess... to see the other for who they really are. They get past what we wear, how we look, how we carry ourselves, how we act from one person to the next... soul mates see through all of it.

I envision one soul mate looking at the other and seeing right through them, right to the heart of their being, right to the spirit, right to the soul. I imagine soul mates as people who in time become transparent to each other. I believe that those who are searching for a soul mate are also searching for transparency... of self.
