We are all three people: That which we present ourselves to be, That which others perceive us to be, And that which we truly are and no one else can ever really know. -Tami Ryan
In an awesomely lonely setting... this image evokes the one-ness of humankind. You go to sleep carrying some heavy luggage... luggage which sometimes threatens to strangle in the night. You wake up with the taste of burnt leather on your tongue... the lingering flavour of bad choices.... and then you get to choose the face you will put on your new day. It will be the wrong one... it always is... but the monkey knows the tune... and he will dance for peanuts no matter how pathetic the melody.... Reminiscent of the old masters... a new master kicks ass.... This work commands a standing ovation, John... my friend... and I stand in awe.... -Helen Grainge Thank you once again Helen. Your words humble me. Preparing to Face the Day.... which mask will it be? A small reminder that not all of us can be taken at face value. -John Alexander (aka SirJohn) |
