Thoughts behind the artwork...

The Spectator sits in the background... hopelessly trapped in a crumbling dream. This image to me symbolizes the sense of hopelessness that is being felt by all too many as they bear witness to the direction our country seems to be heading. The crumbling dream is a product of how completely and easily this country has been divided. It is a product of the constant media bombardment of rampant negativity... of violence glorified at every turn... of moral values pushed aside in favor of selfishness and deceit. The crumbling dream is a symbol of ignorance overwhelming intelligence. It is a symbol of freedom crumbling away before our very eyes.

While this image focuses on a sense of solitary hopelessness, I wish to point out that there are far more people feeling this than one may believe. In other words, if you feel this sense of hopelessness... you are most certainly NOT alone. We can still find strength in each other. We can still UNITE.
