I bought my very first computer in the month of August, 1999. I honestly had no computer knowledge at the time. It was literally square one. Shortly after, I discovered my first art program. As a complete novice, I had to teach myself how to not only use a computer, but also how to use the tools to create artwork. Another wonder of that time was The Internet (which was a VERY different place than it is now). In learning about the internet, I discovered that people no different than myself owned their very own websites. I was deeply fascinated. So fascinated, I taught myself how to design my own.

When I looked at other peoples web sites, I would study the HTML code in order to find out how to do the things that I envisioned for my own website. Early iterations had some pretty hilarious faux pas. Looking back at those innocent, but entertaining mistakes brings a smile to my face. However, the entire point and purpose of learning web design was never once lost upon me. That being the creation of my own place to display the artwork that I so loved creating.

Much like the trials of my early attempts at web design, the images that I created were learning experiences as well. My earliest works were nothing more than fun things to look at. It required many years, and thousands of hours to create my very own, unique style. The graphic above is an homage to some of those beginning images, mixed in with a few of the early images that began to show the direction that I was heading as an artist.

Having said all of that, I want to take the opportunity to highlight some of the images that have resonated the most with me as an artist. I have always maintained that every interpretation is correct. What an image means to you may have absolutely nothing to do with what it means to me, and that is perfectly all right. However, from my perspective as the creator of these images, there are certain ones that stand out. These next images are to me, some of the most important and meaningful works on the path from past to present.
