Thoughts behind the artwork...

A father brings his son to The Ancestral Chamber to teach him that what came before is sacred. All that once was has led to what now is. Our past, one and all, is immutable. Each of us stands upon the shoulders of those who came before us. We must learn from them if we are to become better as a people.

If only this lesson could be taught to those who seek to erase what was. Our past cannot be erased or altered. It is a part of The River of Time. There are those who would try to change the events of the past because they bring pain, emberassment, or shame. They cannot understand that these are the very things to teach us to be better moving forward as a race.
