In our dreams, we can live behind the walls of our defenses deep within our minds... hiding from that which
haunts us. But for those of us who have not lived perfect lives... those of us who have made mistakes along
the way... there are faces in the past who dwell in our minds. Faces of people we may have inadvertently
wronged. People who once cared about us but had to turn away from us. Or people that we simply left behind
for our own selfish reasons. We place walls between ourselves and those faces so as to not remember... but
every once in awhile... the unforgiving figure of shame finds you. That figure cannot be reckoned with, for
it is a concrete part of who you once were. Behind those very walls of protection... that concrete figure
accosts you and forces you to remember those faces that you have so desperately tried to push aside within
the confines of your mind.
