In a future, hopefully not too far away...

On the other side of Deaths Door, there are those who avidly watch the waking world. Unable to follow the path laid out by The River of Time, these sentinels watch over those that they have left behind. With a combination of horror and sorrow, their hollow eyes see all. These sentinels understand the connection of the living to the dead, and the fundamental balance they represent. As the degeneration of the living, waking world rapidly accelerates, a decision is made to help those yet to cross over.

In observing the living, waking world, the sentinels have seen the breakdown of the spiritual path laid out for man. No longer can they govern themselves. No longer can they follow the path meant for them. The living feed on the living, and continuously fight for individual gains instead of walking the path hand in hand. In desperation, a ritual is prepared. The sentinels know that the only way for the path to be cleared, a hero must lead the people back to it. Gathering all of their strength, the sentinels begin The Summoning.
