People=Viewers. Viewers=Ratings. Ratings=Money. The media are mega corporations. They are the television channels you watch… the Newspapers you read… the Magazines you see on the stands. The bottom line of each and every corporation on the planet is PROFIT. In other words, the more that you ‘tune in’, the more money THEY are going to make. The more gruesome the event, the more people will want to see, and the more coverage they will gladly provide. How much money do you think they are making on advertising during such ‘peak’ times? The cold, hard truth is that Network executives cannot wait to imagine the smiles on their shareholders faces the next time a lunatic shoots up a school… or bombs a public event.
