Thoughts behind the artwork...

For the chaotic minded free spirit, symmetrophobia manifests when a world of rules and order is forced upon them. Imagine if you will a truly dedicated musician... one who has spent years writing, rehearsing, and performing their art. Music is their life work. Imagine that person suddenly forced to give it all up. Time to join the ranks of the 9 to 5. Time to place all of the little details into orderly places within the mind. I only use the example of a musician to frame the meaning of this piece more easily. This concept could have relevance to a great many people. There are people who live what many would consider unconventional lives. Some people find a way to operate outside of the symmetrical routines that the vast majority of us become entwined in. For ones of that nature to be forced within the rigidly structured world of work, pay, die, The Symmetrophobic Dream could be all too real.
