Thoughts behind the artwork...

Dreaming Grim Fate. Inescapable terror deep within the mind.

This is actually a compillation of influences... a combination of fears from my earlier years. As a delinquent youth, I was doing things that could have gotten me into trouble. As I began to near adulthood, the realization that I could lose my freedom for sheer stupidity become a rather sobering fear. Needless to say I put aside the childish idiocy in light of that fear. Later, I watched a documentary on a prison riot that took place decades ago. The horrors of that story impacted me severely as I imagined myself trapped in that nightmare scenerio.

As I began working on this image, I was thinking about these things. I hadn't thought of them for decades. Sometimes that is the way my creative process works.
