Thoughts behind the artwork...

For what may have been millennia, the penitent continued their journey along The River of Time. In the subterranean realm of perdition, time simply had no meaning. After what seemed an eternity, they happened upon The Lost Titan on a distant shore. At first, the penitent did not know what they were seeing. The lost titan appeared to be clawing its way up from its own grave. Perpetual sorrow etched the stone surface of a face rendered featureless through endless time.

Aeons later, The Penitent would face The Lord of Perdition. As The Lord of Perdition grants their release, The Penitent ask of The Lost Titan. In answer, visions filled the minds of The Penitent. “The Mad Titan… elemental spirit of Greed, Power, and Cruelty, cast out he who would become The Lost Titan. Using its own virtues against him, The Mad Titan betrayed the elemental spirit of Mercy, Compassion, and Justice. Deep into the realm of perdition was the Lost Titan cast… forever trapped in a tomb of stone and darkness. As such, the eternal balances shifted, and sentient life in all worlds came to learn war. Like a dark whisper, the voice of The Mad Titan planted seeds in every mind. These seeds would spread and propagate for all time, and peace would be forever lost. From deep within his tomb, The Lost Titan fought to free himself. For millennia he struggled while senseless wars waged, and innocent spirits were lost. As the seeds of The Mad Titan grew stronger and stronger… sentient life began to resemble him more and more, sapping the strength of The Lost Titan until finally, he dies in unbearable grief.”

This image is another chapter in a rather amazing dream that I had several years ago. Technically, this image would be a prequel to another image that I have shared here, titled "Plea of The Penitent to The Lord of Perdition". In this dream, I felt as if I travelled in a subterranean realm for millennia. This dream was profound in a way that words fail to adequately describe.
