Interpretations...Yours and Mine

Great colours John, they works so well with the distorted expresssion, this appears quite like a mask too giving the impression of a facade hiding the deeper self beneath.

love this John, the floating masklike surface we can hide behind, it works so well with the texture. But as I said in the forum: I think we have been brainwashed to see the ego as a "bad" thing. I agree with Bev here, we need our ego to handle the real world. Like so many other things it can be good or bad, it depends on our inner qualities.

Fantastic colors and visually powerful John! The ego is always distorted, even if it is of the "good" kind because the ego must always be fed...one way or the other. Thankfully, most of the time our egos are held in check, but sometimes we see one that has run amok and that results in a completely distorted reality. Excellent creative insight and artwork John!

-Cheryl Lavender

A false ego, this. He imagines himself as more than one voice. His smile is empty... as are his eyes. While he listens to his alter egos spew forth his attributes, he knows they are lies... but it sounds good... it feels good... and he doesn't possess the 'sacrificial tool kit' that would be necessary to dismantle the altar upon which they have placed him. And, anyway, the view is rosey from atop that lofty pedestal...

-Helen Grainge

Why is it that when we think of ego, we are more often than not reminded of the negative manifestations of it? Perhaps it is because that darker side of ego, the one that we associate with arrogance is the easiest to see.
